New counters and booths have been put into this revamped classic, but it still warrants an Adam Driver "Good soup" reenactment. Scratches the Brooklyn nostalgia itch but has been given a new life in a similar way.
Diner classics layered with a Tex-Mex influence from the chef's own upraising in (deep) south Texas. My go-to is the Texas (corn-flake crusted and deep fried) French Toast and everyone I've brought begs for a bite..!
The exterior looks the same as the Good Old Days—silver railcar, neon sign — but the inside has been freshened up with warm lighting, mirrors, pink tables, and little illustrations of local landmarks. I quite admire that it's a well-executed preservation effort the respects what made the place worth saving. Always my first stop on a trip back home.
